Artistic leadership

Prof. Dr. Jochen M. Arnold, born in Marbach/N. in 1967, studied protestant theology in Tuebingen and Rome as well as church music (A-Exam) at the conservatory in Stuttgart, amongst others with Werner Jacob (organ), Dieter Kurz and Helmut Wolf (conducting). Vicar and cantor in Reutlingen, ordination in 2002, Doctorate at the University of Tuebingen in 2003, interdisciplinary habilitation in theology on Bach’s Cantatas, private lecturer at the University of Leipzig since 2008. After teaching in the formation of vicars in Wuerttemberg he became director of the Michaelikloster Hildesheim. Extensive concertworks as the director of the ensemble Gli Scarlattisti with numerous radio- and CD- recordings; its repertoire ranges from the middle ages to present. Moreover, Arnold is the director of Collegium Musicum Hildesheim and of the University of Hildesheim’s choir, where he also holds a teaching position for choral conducting and for protestant theology.
